KONY 2012 Sequel to Launch This Week

Non-profit Invisible Children announced it would release a sequel to KONY 2012, the most viral video in Internet history, later this week.
The organization announced the sequel March 29 by changing its Facebook cover photo to an image that says “KONY 2012 Part II, premiering April 3.”

An Invisible Children spokesperson told satwire the cover photo is wrong. In fact, the sequel won’t be released until later this week.
The original 30-minute documentary has been viewed more than 86 million times on YouTube and more than 17 million times on Vimeo.
KONY 2012 Part II promises to go more in-depth about the intricacies of the conflict in Uganda, responding tocritics of the film who say the organization distorted and simplified realities about Joseph Kony and the LRA.
Invisible Children’s director of ideology Jedidiah Jenkins told Reuters the sequel will include more voices from the countries where Kony and the LRA are currently based, such as the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
